Zachary's Platforming Adventure

Welcome to Zachary's Platforming Adventure! In this game, you control Zachary as he runs and jumps over various obstacles through 3 levels, aiming to reach the treasure chest at the end of each level. Avoid the sharp, red spikes and the bottomless pits in order to reach the treasure chest. Use the arrow keys to move, space bar to jump, and shift key to sprint as you go through each level. Additionally, you can use the escape (Esc) key to pause the game. From the pause menu that shows up, you can click the "Resume" button (or press the escape key again) to go back to the game, or click the "Quit" button to return to the title screen.

On the title screen, you can click the "Start" button to start the game from level 1, or click the "Level Select" button to open the level selection screen, from which you can click one of the 3 buttons to start the game from that level.

When you die, the game over (death) screen will appear, from which you can click "Retry" to retry the level, or "Quit" to quit to the title screen.

Trivia

• This game and its main character are named after me.
• This game's death screen is heavily inspired by that of Minecraft: it has a transparent red background with white heading text on top, and it has 2 buttons: a button to retry the level, and a button to quit to the title screen.
  • Before this game got its death screen, the level would just instantly retry when you would die.
• All the music was composed by myself, using FamiTracker.
• The style of Zachary's sprite in this game was heavily inspired by the art style of the pixel art used in the computer coding books published by DK (e.g., Coding Games in Scratch).
